ABSTRACT
Introduction: The hypomastia or lack of mammary tissue (from constitutional or acquired origin) can cause maladjustment in body image and interfere in the psychosocial balance of the person. Objective: Demonstrate breast implants with a more natural contour/outline and with fewer stigmas. Method: The author presents a descriptive and retrospective study of a five-year use of mammary implants with shorter projection in the superior pole (MPPS) and the satisfaction level with these models. Results: A hundred and two patients who used MPPS implants were selected (all female), within the natural shape (71% of the cases), natural EP (3,9%) and anatomic shape (24.5%). All the implants had polyurethane covering and pre-pectoral location. The average volume was 261,7 ml and the average age was 30 years old. A questionnaire was applied to evaluate the satisfaction level; 85.3% answered and 96.5% of them declared great satisfaction and moderate satisfaction with the implant profile, 3.5% declared less satisfaction. There were no dissatisfaction cases. Conclusion: The MPPS implants are an excellent option in the surgical arsenal of mammary implants, according to the patient desire and the right prescription, with less complications and high level of satisfaction.
