The Sociedade Brasileira de Cirurgia Plástica was founded in 1948 in São Paulo to promote and improve the study of plastic surgery in Brazil. Today, SBCP comprises approximately 6,500 plastic surgeons, including members, associates, and aspiring members.

To enter the SBCP, the interested party must be a doctor with a specialization of two years in general surgery, three years of plastic surgery in a service accredited by SBCP and/or MEC, perform and pass a written and oral exam to become a specialist member of the SBCP. The Sociedade Brasileira de Cirurgia Plástica has its National headquarters in São Paulo and Regional offices in 19 capitals of the country.

Their boards are elected by members' votes for a two-year administrative term. Periodically, exclusive scientific meetings are held for its members. There are five Scientific Days and one Congress per year, where members can update their scientific knowledge through participation in activities, such as conferences and live surgeries. At the events, there are also social gatherings, parties, and dinners.

Putting our campaign goals into practice, we started the philanthropic project with the creation of the IDEAH Foundation, whose objective is to support the humanitarian, teaching, and research actions of the Sociedade Brasileira de Cirurgia Plástica (SBCP).
