ABSTRACT
Introduction: Maintenance of the upper pole and prevention of breast ptosis are concerns after mastopexy of patients with weight loss. The study evaluated the results and satisfaction of selected patients who underwent mastopexy using an inferior dermoglandular flap in a Plastic Surgery Residency Service.
Method: Seventeen patients underwent mastopexy with an inferior dermoglandular flap at the Cajuru and Santa Casa de Misericórdia Hospitals in Curitiba, PR, between January 2017 and January 2018.
Results: The evaluation was considered adequate (> 88%) and the patients were satisfied (82.3%) after the procedures. Discussion: We agree with the authors that the inferior dermoglandular flap is safe and easy to make, providing adequate results and satisfaction.
Conclusions: In our study, the results were encouraging and endorse the technique in mastopexies of patients with weight loss.
