ABSTRACT
Introduction: The ectropion is the eyelid malposition characterized by eversion of ciliary margin and exposure of conjunctiva and cornea. In case of lower ectropion, reconstruction can be fulfilled by a variety of already standardized techniques such as the widely used tarsal strip.
Method: Review of three cases of ectropion of different causes corrected with the tarsal strip technique.
Results: This procedure is effective, shortening the lower eyelid and resulting in a discreet scar and relatively easy execution.
Conclusions: Although this technique presents satisfactory results, the choice of technique should consider the extent of the eversion, local and general conditions of the patient.
