ABSTRACT
Introduction: Tenosynovial giant cell tumor is characterized by benign neoplasia, with a tendency to local recurrence. It rarely sends metastasis. The hand presents as the most common site, and the affection of the plantar region is unusual. MRI is the best imaging method. Confirmation by histopathology. The gold-standard treatment is resection of the lesion.
Method: The related literature was reviewed, using as key words: tenosynovial giant cell tumor, benign foot tumors; as well as using records to collect data for the case report.
Conclusions: Tenosynovial giant cell tumor should be part of the diagnostic hypothesis in the neoplasia of uncertain behavior of the plantar region. The surgery is the gold-standard therapy.
