ABSTRACT
Introduction: Properly performed periorbital aesthetic surgery is one of the most rejuvenating procedures of all facial surgeries. However, there is no standardization in procedures necessary to reduce the chance of poor postoperative palpebral margin position.
Method: The HU/UFSC plastic surgery service created a pre-surgical eyelid margin standardization. To evaluate the tarsal ligament, the snap test, lateral projection and anterior projection were used. To evaluate the tarsal support, we used the lateral corner, vector and corner-orbit distance.
Results: As of September 2018, the standardization of eyelid margin evaluation was performed for lower blepharoplasty.
Conclusions: The standardization of a procedure avoids future complications and complications of patients.
