ABSTRACT
Introduction: Pilomatricoma is a benign, slow-growing neoplasm, which rarely presents with symptoms. It is a rare condition that mainly affects the pediatric population. Diagnosis is eminently clinical, and confirmation is through pathological analysis. Surgical resection is the gold standard.
Method: Case report demonstrating the feasibility of complete tumor excision followed by confection of a pursue string suture. Results were compared to the literature databases.
Results: Inconspicuous scar obtained, and complete tumor excision formed by the pathology specimen.
Conclusions: The concentric pouch closure - the pursue string suture - showed a good aesthetic and functional outcome after complete surgical excision of the pilomatricoma of the face.
