ABSTRACT
Introduction: Among the many options for nasal reconstruction are the Rintala flap and the Middle-front Retail, both with excellent aesthetic results.
Objective: To report the management of a case of nasal tip reconstruction after a dog bite.
Method: The case in question was approached with the realization of Rintala flap and, due to its failure, with the option of the mid-frontal flap.
Results: The Rintala flap, because it was a randomized flap in a smoker patient and was done with an incorrect approach, did not present the expected result. In turn, the middle-forehead flap remained as a salvage option for the case of necrosis and coverage of an even greater defect.
Conclusions: It is fundamental to always keep in mind the anatomy of the frontal region and preservation of the supratrochlear and supraorbital arteries even when using other flaps, so that the option of the forehead flap is not lost, even if as a rescue.
