Parente's Stitch: an Option for Lateral Stabilization of the Implant in DTI-Breast Reconstruction
Sutura de Parente: uma opção para estabilização lateral do implante da reconstrução mamária imediata

ABSTRACT

Introduction: Immediate breast reconstruction changed the lives of patients who underwent mastectomy. Initially, the procedure was performed in two stages, using expanders that were replaced by implants. With the appearance of the matrices, this scenario has changed. Without them, the implant remains with poor lateral coverage with possibility of migration.
Method: Description of a suture technique developed by the author to provide a barrier for lateral migration.
Results: the author has been successful in maintaining the positioning of implants with this technique.
Discussion: The use of screens for inferolateral coverage favors the support and good positioning of the implant, however they are still expensive for Brazilian reality. So the search for options for this issue is imperative.
Conclusions: The use of the suture developed by the author.

RESUMO

Introdução: A reconstrução mamária imediata mudou a vida das pacientes submetidas a mastectomia. Inicialmente realizava-se o procedimento em dois estágios, com uso de expansores que eram trocados por implantes. Com o surgimento das telas, esse cenário mudou; sem elas o implante permanece com cobertura lateral pobre com possibilidade de migração.

Método: Descrição da técnica de sutura desenvolvida pelo autor para fornecer uma barreira para migração lateral do implante.

Resultados: O autor tem atingido sucesso na manutenção do posicionamento dos implantes com essa técnica.

Discussão: O uso de telas para cobertura inferolateral favorece o suporte e bom posicionamento do implante, porém elas ainda são caras para realidade brasileira. Por isso, a busca por opções para essa questão são imperativas.

Conclusão: O uso da sutura desenvolvida pelo autor tem bons resultados na manutenção da posição dos implantes.
