ABSTRACT
Introduction: Soft tissue sarcomas are a heterogeneous group of malignant mesenchymal tumors that are classified based on their histology with respect to the adult tissue to which they resemble. They are locally aggressive, with invasive capacity, recurrence and distant metastasis, so they require radical surgery to ensure complete exeresis.
Objective: to know about dedifferentiated liposarcoma of the scalp based on a clinical case assisted in the Chair of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery of the University Hospital.
Method: A 27-year-old patient diagnosed with dedifferentiated liposarcoma of the scalp, stage IIa.
Results: We performed a diagnostic exeresis of the tumor, being a dedifferentiated liposarcoma of the scalp. Resection was made with oncological margins, temporary reconstruction with graft.
Conclusion: Uncommon, aggressive tumor with regional and systemic metastasis, with high local and regional recurrence.
