When resigning from management, the only thing left for us to do is to acknowledge the invaluable contribution of Professor Ricardo Baroudi, with whom I have had the privilege of being friends since the Paris Congress, 40 years ago!
As an editor of the RBCP, he was responsible for a true metamorphosis, not only because of the seriousness with which he treats articles but also for his creativity, innovation, and demands for the academic participation of all people responsible for the scientific growth of the Brazilian Society of Plastic Surgery (SBCP).
He was the right man, in the right place, at the right time!
With your permission, I would like to address the honourable proffesor:
Dear Ricardo, I know you are passionate, not only in the plastic surgery used to sculpt your patientsyou have proved that by leaving us an exceptional legacy of personal contributions-but also in the diligence and thoroughness with which you ran the journal.
Despite your clamor for change, which was more than justified, some of your demands were not implemented, perhaps due to lack of logistics, and perhaps sometimes it was my fault. For this, I would like to apologize to you here.
At this moment that you resign as the head of RBCP, transferring that responsibility to Dov, I feel honored to announce that, at the suggestion of our Board of Directors, your name was unanimously approved by the Deliberative Body to become "PATRON of the BRAZILIAN JOURNAL of PLASTIC SURGERY (RBCP)"!
It was inevitable that, under your leadership, the RBCP was reborn with seriousness, consistency, international recognition, and great potential for growth as a scientific journal, just as SBCP should be.
I would like to state here my reverence for the teachings that you have passed on to me. I am grateful for the immense affection that you always showed to me, and I am sure that we can count on your intellectual brilliance, your ethics and your passion for the Society.
I must also acknowledge my dear friend Beá for her selflessness, dedication, and understanding, and for having "lent" him to us during this long period.
With our blessing, Patron!
