ABSTRACT

The authors present a study on the pathophysiology of complex wounds induced by radiotherapy, describing their clinical aspects and histopathological findings. They go on to present six cases in which the lesion developed, and the clinical and surgical treatment established.

RESUMO

Os autores apresentam estudo a respeito da fisiopatologia das feridas complexas determinadas por radioterapia, descrevendo seus aspectos clínicos e anatomopatológicos. Na seqüência, apresentam seis casos nos quais a lesão se desenvolveu e o tratamento clínico-cirúrgico es lecido.

ABSTRACT

The authors present the results obtained with the tarsoconjunctival flap technique in eyelid reconstructions of total plane defects and affecting more than 50% of the horizontal length of the lower eyelid. They describe how the method was used in 40 cases and discuss major aspects in the evolution of the procedure. They conclude by defending the utilization of the method as the technique of choice in complex lid lesions due to its satisfactory aesthetic and functional results.

RESUMO

Os autores apresentam os resultados obtidos com a utilização da técnica do retalho tarsoconjuntival nas reconstruções palpebrais em defeitos de plano total e de mais de 50% do comprimento horizontal das pálpebras inferiores. Descrevem a aplicação do método em 40 casos e discutem aspectos importantes na evolução deste procedimento. Concluem defendendo o emprego desse recurso em lesões complexas palpebrais como técnica de escolha devido aos resultados satisfatórios estéticos e funcionais.
