ABSTRACT

Patients who undergo a reduct gastroplasty surgery present great weight loss (65 to 80% of the weight excess in the first 18 months) and the plastic surgery represents an important play in the treatment of exceeded skin that can cause posture, hygiene and dermatologic disturbs, besides sexual restriction and other psychosocial privations. Seventy plastic surgery patients, who have been operated on the period of June 2003 to June 2005, have been studied in order to evaluate their pre, during and post needs of care after the reduct gastroplasty process using gastric bypass.

RESUMO

Pacientes submetidos a gastroplastias redutoras apresentam grandes perdas ponderais (65 a 80% do excesso de peso nos primeiros 18 meses), tendo a cirurgia plástica papel fundamental no tratamento dos grandes excessos cutâneos que poderão ocasionar distúrbios posturais, higiênicos, dermatites e restrições sexuais, entre outras privações psicossociais. Foram revisados 70 pacientes operados no período de junho de 2003 a junho de 2005, tendo por objetivo a avaliação dos cuidados pré, per e pós-operatórios destinados aos pacientes submetidos às diversas cirurgias plásticas após gastroplastia redutora por bypass gástrico.

ABSTRACT

Background: The increase in frequency of reductive gastroplasty surgery and the increasing aesthetics demand by society, made plastic surgery an important stage in morbid obesity treatment. Beside cutaneous problems and comorbities, these patients present metabolic and nutritional disturbances, that could interfere with trans and postoperative treatment. Methods: Forty-one patients who were submitted to abdominoplasty after reductive gastroplasty were studied by the Fobi and Capella technique, during the period of January of 2004 to July of 2006, with attention to pre and postoperative laboratorial aspects and pre, trans and postoperative care.

RESUMO

Introdução: O aumento da freqüência da gastroplastia redutora e a crescente exigência estética da sociedade tornaram a cirurgia plástica uma importante etapa no tratamento da obesidade mórbida. Estes pacientes apresentam, além das alterações cutâneas e comorbidades, distúrbios metabólicos e nutricionais que podem interferir no per e pós-operatório. Método: Foram estudados 41 pacientes submetidos à abdominoplastia pós-gastroplastia redutora pela técnica de Fobi e Capella, no período de janeiro de 2004 a julho de 2006, sendo avaliado o perfil laboratorial pré e pós-operatório e cuidados pré, per e pós-operatórios.
