ABSTRACT
Introduction: The abdomen is a human body region that presents great plasticity and, therefore, is susceptible of great alterations. Abdominoplasty is a procedure that aims at repairing these changes both in the aesthetic and reconstructive plans.
Objective: The aim of this study was to demonstrate author 's experience in performing abdominoplasty with medial and semilunar lines plication (Spiegel) to restore abdomen natural tension with selective detachment from his upper floor.
Method: Twenty-two patients were operated from May 2014 to February 2016, with 38.5 years mean age.
Results: There were no bruises or infections. There were two cases of epitheliosis in hypogastric region with suture dehiscence and six cases of unsightly scars.
Conclusion: Preservation of upper abdominal circulation was sufficient for abdominal flap nutrition, despite lateral detachment for Spiegel line plication.
