ABSTRACT

The manuscript describes a quite infrequent giant breast lipoma progressing slowly since adolescence, in a young female adult. Clinical, pathology, diagnosis and therapeutic aspects are emphasized.

É relatado um caso pouco freqüente de lipoma mamário gigante, com evolução lenta desde a adolescência, em uma paciente adulta jovem, enfatizando-se os aspectos clínicos, patológicos, diagnósticos e terapêuticos.

ABSTRACT

Many articles have been published about rhytidoplasty, however, few report on the long-term results. The objective of this article is to try to evaluate the results of face lifts and to define long-term results. The evaluation of rhytidoplasty is not an easy task. Different methods are utilized but there are no parameters that can assess the final product unless the result is bad. The process of aging does not cease after the facial rejuvenating surgery. Several important factors are involved in the result and the duration of the surgical effects including: the different ages at which patients are submitted to face lifts, the different surgical goals and the experience and good sense of the surgeon. Thus, this subject is of special interest to the plastic surgeon. In this article we tried to explore some of these aspects. Is it possible this is a philosophical discussion?

RESUMO

Vários artigos são publicados sobre ritidoplastia, porém, poucos abordam seus resultados tardios. O objetivo deste artigo é tentar avaliar os resultados do face lift e definir qual é o resultado tardio. A avaliação da ritidoplastia não é tarefa fácil. Diferentes métodos são utilizados, porém não há parâmetros que possam avaliar o produto final, a não ser que um resultado ruim ocorra. O processo do envelhecimento não cessa após a cirurgia de rejuvenescimento facial. Vários fatores, de modo importante, fazem parte do resultado e da duração dos efeitos da cirurgia: as diferentes idades em que os pacientes são submetidos ao face lift, as diferentes propostas cirúrgicas, a experiência e o bom senso do cirurgião. Sendo assim, este assunto torna-se extremamente interessante para o cirurgião plástico. Neste artigo, tentamos expor alguns destes aspectos. Seria esta uma discussão filosófica?
